This league is not open for registrations.
Player Eligibility:
- Elementary League Age: 6-8 Years
- Junior League Age: 8-10 Years
- Senior League Age: 10-12 Years
- 14U League Age: 12-14 Years
Registration Requirements:
- Completed registration form
- 14U Payment of registration fee: $75
- All other leagues, Payment of registration fee: $60
Equipment:
- Helmet (meeting safety standards)
- Glove (appropriate size for child)
- Cleats (No metal cleats)
- Bat
- Baseball Pants
- Facemask (Recommended)
League Rules
8U Wells County Girls Softball
GAME RULES
Eleven (11) inch softball will be used.
Each team will be allowed to play ten (10) defensive players.
Teams are required to bat the roster. If a player becomes injured they can be removed from the line up without a forced called out. Once the player exists the game they cannot return to the game.
Coaches (2 coaches max) may be in the field to give instructions to their defensive team, during the first half of season through the end of May.
Players cannot sit out two consecutive innings with a maximum of two innings on the bench a game.
NO infield fly rule.
NO drop 3rd strike.
75 min games. Do not start another inning after the 75 min time cap has been reached. Home team gets last bats (if needed) complete the inning.
Games shall last 75 minutes or 5 innings, whichever comes first.
Three innings is considered a complete game. If the game is postponed, the game will continue where left off. If the 1st inning is not complete the game will start over.
Games must start with 9 players. If a team is short players they may obtain a sub player from our league only. The player will bat last and play in the outfield the entirety of the game. Teams may only obtain a sub for absent players in a 1:1 ratio. The sub player must wear their teams jersey so coaches know who the player is and what team they came from.
No more than 5 runs can be scored in an inning by any team. Exception to the last inning which is unlimited runs.
Continuous walks are NOT permitted. (Going to second base after a walk).
Run rule. 10 after 4 innings or 7 after 5 innings. Home team bats last.
Base runners cannot lead off. Runners can only leave their base after the pitched ball passes the batter (home plate). Runners can only steal 2nd and 3rd base And cannot advance on an overthrow.
Ball is considered dead when the ball is thrown into the infield or pitcher circle.
There will be no unnecessary people in the dugout.
The home team will be responsible for scorebook.
10 U Wells County Girls Softball
PITCHER RULES
The pitching rubber will be thirty-five (35) feet from home plate.
Pitcher is limited to 4 innings / game. No cap per week.
Player/Coach pitch: This is a player/coach pitch league. The defensive team’s pitcher will be allowed to pitch as long as they are ahead (in count) of the batter. As soon as the batter gets walked then the offensive teams coach will come in and pitch 3 more pitches. However, the coach can continue to pitch more than 3 pitches as long as the batter stays alive (hits foul balls). The batter will not be called out on a foul ball unless a play is made by a fielder. The batter can continue until they hit, strike out, or received the 3rd pitch. No Walks.
Wild Pitch: Any pitcher that hits 4 batters will be removed from pitching for the remainder of that game.
HP: If player gets HP they get first. The player must make an attempt to get out of the way. Also, a ball that hits the ground first is a dead ball, not HP.
Circle Rule: The ball is dead when the ball is in the circle. (player has possession)
